Unigen Announces Enhancements to EnduraCharge(TM) SSDs

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - August 9, 2013) - Unigen Corporation has announced improvements to its patented EnduraCharge™ family of Flash drives, featuring power loss protection, with densities from 80GB-480GB. EnduraCharge™ technology is deployed on Unigen's Model 2500c, to prevent corruption or data loss in the event of an unintentional power interrupt. This technology totally eliminates unscheduled downtime for drive reformatting and reinstalling system OS.

Improvements on the EnduraCharge™ drives involve the use of polymer capacitors. Polymer capacitors feature longer life, low and stable ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), and tolerance to higher ripple currents compared to electrolytic capacitors. Low and stable ESR significantly improves response to current transitions, prevents malfunction and dangerous thermal runaways. Unlike electrolytic capacitors, polymers do not generate dangerous gasses during operation.

The Model 2500c drives, designed around the LSI SF-2500 controllers, are ideal for network attached storage systems and large scale computing, or mission critical platforms. They offer best-in-class performance, high-level AES encryption, and data reliability. With an impressive random 4kB file read/write performance of up to 60K IOPS, the Unigen EnduraCharge™ drives take fast data streaming speed, application load time and on-line transaction processing to the next level.

MALVERN, PA--(Marketwired - August 9, 2013) - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has broadened its optoelectronics portfolio with the introduction of new high-speed photo detectors in miniature gullwing, reverse gullwing, and side-view packages with wide-view dome lenses. Offered with or without daylight blocking filters, featuring a +/- 35° angle of half sensitivity, and AEC-Q101-qualified, the VEMD2xx3(SL) PIN photodiodes have a typical output current of 10 microamps and an extremely low dark current of 1 nA while the VEMT2xx3(SL) phototransistors have a typical output current of 2.7 mA. For applications requiring emitter-detector pairs, these new photo detectors have matching emitters in Vishay's high-speed +/- 25° and +/- 28° VSMB2943xX01 series.

The photo detectors released today will be used as photo interrupters, detectors for optical switches, counters, encoders, position sensors, and for IR remote control and data transmission in automotive applications, infrared (IR) touch panels, light curtains and barriers, and metering systems. Offering black dome lenses and spectral bandwidth ranging from 750 nm to 1050 nm, devices with daylight blocking filters are responsive to infrared light, while suppressing ambient light to increase the signal-to-noise ratio. Clear epoxy devices without daylight blocking filters offer a broader wavelength range of 350 nm to 1120 nm and are sensitive to visible and near infrared radiation.

The VEMD2xx3(SL) and VEMT2xx3(SL) series devices feature compact 2.3 mm by 2.3 mm by 2.55 mm gullwing and reverse gullwing packages, and side-view packages measuring 2.3 mm by 2.55 mm by 2.3 mm. Each device consists of an adapted lens radius for a wide +/- 35° angle of half sensitivity, resulting in typical photo currents of 10 microamps for the photodiodes and 2.7 mA for the phototransistors at 1mW/cm2 and 950 nm.

The photodiodes and phototransistors offer operating and storage temperature ranges from - 40 °C to + 100 °C. With a moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of 2a, per J-STD-020, the VEMD2xx3(SL) and VEMT2xx3(SL) series provide a floor life of four weeks. Compatible with lead (Pb)-free reflow soldering, the devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and conform to Vishay "Green" standards.

Samples and production quantities of the new photodiodes and phototransistors are available now, with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., a Fortune 1000 Company listed on the NYSE (VSH), is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors (diodes, MOSFETs, and infrared optoelectronics) and passive electronic components (resistors, inductors, and capacitors). Major drug manufacturer Ranbaxy Laboratories is to set up a greenfield manufacturing facility in Malaysia.

The Indian company announced on Friday that its Malaysian joint venture with shareholders, Ranbaxy Malaysia Sdn Bhd (RMSB) had signed a “letter of offer” agreement with industrial park Kulim Hi Tech Park in Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia, where other leading industries are housed, to develop its facility.

The Ranbaxy Greenfield facility will be built on an area of around 15 acres with an investment of around $35 million, providing employment to over 200 people.

This will be Ranbaxy’s second manufacturing plant in Malaysia, the first, in Sungai Petani, was commissioned in 1987.

In September last year, the government of Malaysia gave an approval to RMSB for setting up a Greenfield manufacturing facility in Malaysia as an Entry Point Project.

Jeyabalan Thangarajah, Managing Director of RMSB, said: “Ranbaxy established its foothold in Malaysia three decades back and since then has been offering high quality, affordable generic medicines to the Malaysian healthcare system. The new Greenfield facility reinforces our long term commitment.

“In addition to serving the local market, the new facility will also export products to the ASEAN markets, Middle East, Europe, Sri Lanka, China and other select nations.”

The RMSB new facility will manufacture dosage forms including tablets and capsules primarily in the cardiovascular, anti diabetic, anti-infective and gastrointestinal segments.

Ranbaxy’s total output in Malaysia will be increased from one billion doses per year to three billion doses per year when the new facility is fully operational.

In the 2012 Malaysian budget, the Government of Malaysia liberalised investments into the healthcare sector and encouraged foreign companies.

Ranbaxy Laboratories, India’s largest pharmaceutical company, has a 71 percent stake in the joint venture RMSB.

AUDI A6 Navigation Has All the Modern Features

$

NEW YORK, NY, August 10, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- One can expect an ultramodern navigation system when using the Audi 6 executive car. The AUDI A6 Navigation system is the GPS navigation for use in the Audi 6 luxury car with modern features that most car owners would love to install in their cars. The system has a 7-inch 400 X 800 Digital High Definition LCD touch screen monitor, with PIP function that is a rarity in other brands of cars. One can use any two of the DVD, Radio, AUX or Bluetooth features at the same time because of this feature.

If one installs a new AUDI A6 Navigation system in his old car, he won't have a problem since the later models will fit any Audi 6 model from 2001 onwards. The equipment usually comes with many types of connectors which will fit any electrical connectors used by navigation systems used in Audi 6 cars. The car GPS navigation allows the use of music players or the radio while the gadget is being used for navigation. The music will not interfere with the voice navigation features of the system.

The original AUDI A6 Navigation installed in the Audi 6 also has a 7- inch display monitor and loads much faster than previous models because of 40 gigabyte memory bank in its hard drive. One will be amazed at the precise navigational maps of all the cities in Western Europe with accuracy that has never been experienced in other navigation systems. Directions are clearly displayed on the monitor that serves as a driver information screen. In some models, the steering wheel is fully integrated with multifunctional navigation controls.

Ten gigabytes of memory is allotted for storing music files and one can simply choose any MP3 track to play directly from stored discs. One can select visual or audio navigational instructions and 3D maps are available for almost all cities in Europe with actual visuals of important landmarks located in the cities. The system uses the Traffic Message Chanel to acquire information of current traffic conditions and avoid traffic jams. The system also provides alternate routes in case there are traffic jams that cannot be avoided.

The A6 AUDI Navigation system allows drivers to use voice commands for entering destination inputs and those who want to use a 2D map instead of 3D may do so at their option. Users can zoom in on any portion of any map and zooming at intersections is done automatically for the driver's convenience.

Source: GlacialTech Inc

Taipei, August 10, 2013 --(PR.com)-- GlacialPower, a division of the Taiwanese technology manufacturer, GlacialTech Inc., is pleased to announce two new GlacialPower LED drivers for constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) LED lights – GP-RS45P and GP-RS60P – available in several options ranging from 12V DC to 57V DC. The drivers are also available with a 3 in 1 dimming (1-10V/PWM/Resistor) function.

Both of the drivers are ideal for any indoor LED lighting solutions, as the IP67 approved plastic housing protects the drivers from possible dust or water damage such as rusting. Further, the double insulated wiring design ensures that if the wire is externally pulled, the strain relief bushing to the circuit board will not be exposed, preventing possible electricity leakages.

The GP-RS45P and GP-RS60P LED drivers offer a range of different options for indoor LED lighting needs. The output voltage of the two LED lights range from 12V DC to 57V DC. The GP-RS45P LED drivers deliver up to 48W and the GP-RS60P LED drivers up to 60W of power to the LED. For LED driver producers — safety standard certification UL8750 Class 2/II has been applied for and currently under review, however these drivers specifications fully satisfy the criteria of UL1598 fixture safety standard. These specifications combined with cost-effective pricing and durable plastic housing makes these drivers excellent options for practically any constant voltage and constant current LED indoor lighting needs.

The drivers have a power conversion efficiency rate of up to 89%, which makes them highly energy efficient. Furthermore, true to the reputation of GlacialPower, the two new LED drivers are highly secure. In addition to the IP67 approved plastic housing the drivers have three different protections: Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Short-Circuit Protection (SCP) and Over-Temperature Protection (OTP).

GlacialPower's R&D team developed these LED drivers with the aim to eliminate the need for electronic transformers and to provide more energy-saving and environmentally-friendly LED products. GlacialPower's LED driver technology is expected to lead a new trend in innovation and become an essential feature for all LED lighting products. GlacialPower will introduce additions to its line of LED drivers with GP-RS25 and GP-RS35 during the fourth quarter of 2013.

The Las Vegas, US-based firm, which designs and builds live stage equipment, has also acquired staging engineering specialist Delstar Engineering, which joined forces with Stage Technologies recently.

Both companies have offices all across the world, including Europe and China, and this acquisition by TAIT is being hailed by the American company as a “merger of the world’s market leaders in the field of automation, staging and engineering for the live entertainment industry.”

The statement continues “The enhanced capacity of the groups provides the ability to offer unrivaled technology and expertise across the globe from locations on the East and West coasts of America, Belgium, Macau, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, China and Australia.

Rapid Growth of the ELESA Range of Corrosion Resistant Stainless Steel Standard Components

Source: ELESA (UK) Ltd

Metheringham, United Kingdom, August 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The extremely large ELESA range of industrial standard components in metal and high grade reinforced plastic is well known – but what is less well known is the continuing rapid growth in their range of Stainless Steel standard components in AISI grades 301, 303, 304 and 316. These have been developed specifically for those applications where significantly higher levels of quality are required in respect of corrosion resistance or ultimate strength.

ELESA’s stainless steel range of elements for control, location/positioning, clamping, visual indication and mobility now includes handwheels, lobe knobs, wing nuts, adjustable clamping handles, grab handles, indexing plungers, hinges, column level indicators and castors - which are corrosion resistant and suited to aggressive environments. These are found to be of value for applications located offshore or in chemical plants and clean down areas in food processing and pharmaceuticals where their cavity free design prevents biological build up and aids cleaning. Plus their relatively inert stainless steel surface offers little opportunity for corrosion or attachment of debris which may otherwise lead to raised contamination levels. This is achieved by using polished surfaces, with matt finish where it is needed for good grip and control of the elements – and which also provides a softer feel for operator comfort and security of grip/operation.

In particular the GN950.6-F stainless three spoked handwheel features a fixed handle, while the VCM-SST lobe knobs offer male or female fitment with comfortable scallop style hand grips. For smaller clamping or fixing the EWNM-SST wing nuts (also male or female) allow high tightening torque valves in M5 to M10 sizes.

Where rapid clamping is required in confined spaces, the GN300.5 series adjustable handles provide a push button engagement/disengage system to enable an operator to clamp by tightening in arcs.

ELESA stainless steel panelware includes their GN565.5 grab handles and CMM-SST butt hinges for cabinets, enclosures, furniture and lifting applications.

The ELESA stainless steel range for engineering situations includes GN617.1-N1 indexing plungers with rest position – fully in AISI 303 stainless steel for precision location in arduous environments. Likewise, the HCX-SST column level indicators combine high technology transparent technopolymer with AISI 303/304 to ensure clear visibility level checking in harsh environments.

The stainless steel brackets and axle set of ELESA’s RE.FF range of castors does the same job where equipment mobility and wash-down are required – combined with polyurethane tyred polyamide wheels -these ensure rugged, reliable mobility with easy movement.
