Source: SML Group Limited

New York, NY, August 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The SML Group (“SML”) known for its range of Brand Identification Labels, has today launched the ViziT™ FT/200 a Bulk Encoder and Box Audit station. For operations that require bulk encoding of RFID tags and where items need to be counted and matched to the SKU when packed into boxes. At Site locations such as shipping/receiving, the FT/200 introduces record speeds and accuracy in bulk item level validation and RFID chip encoding.

The FT/200 incorporates a set of unique Patent Pending features that bring a new dimension to Bulk Encode, Bulk Read applications. The unique features include:

1. A ‘Flexible Tunnel’ which allows for cases of different sizes.

2. A ‘Creep’ function which checks for a 100% Read/Write result and automatically re-adjusts machine parameters according to the environment and product specification until a 100% Read/Write action is achieved. ‘Creep’ eliminates situations where the conveyor travels too fast and tags exit the cage before being fully read or encoded.

3. A ‘FT Conveyor’ function, which eliminates the shrink and reflection effect of metal on the RFID tags and increases the speed at which items are successfully encoded.

4. An ‘Auto Tilt’ mechanism which uses optimal algorithms to ensure that all tags are encoded and read, even when tags are presented to the antennas as ‘edge on’.

5. ‘Emitter Count’ reduces the number of sequenced emissions needed to Read/Write to tags, which results in record through put speeds which can reach as fast as 200 items in around 5 seconds.

“As Retailers continue to roll out RFID into their stores we are looking hard at how these RFID tagged items may bring benefits to the Vendors and Brand Owners who are tagging the products in their Factories and Warehouses,” said Philip Calderbank; SML VP of Global RFID. "With this high speed Bulk Encoder a manufacturer may undertake to do their own In-Plant RFID tag encoding; even when items have already been packed into boxes."

This same unit may be also be used for Bulk reading and validation of items and so can be employed for many functions at shipping and receiving. One key application is to run an automatic ‘Box Audit’ at a shipping station when mixed items are picked and packed into cases. Being able to run a full count of items inside of a box and have this checked and compared to the SKU list will enable 100% audits prior to shipping, while dramatically reducing the time taken as compared to manual Box Audits.

The FT/200 is the first in a new set of ViziT™ solutions that SML is developing in order to compliment the extensive range of RFID tags that are available through our Service Bureau’s around the globe. FT/200 enables the Vendor/Brand Owners to take advantage of the Mass Adoption of RFID that is now happening across the supply chain.”

Navios Acquisition is assessing market opportunities for the Shinyo Navigator, a 1996-built VLCC with a current value of about $22.0 million.

Impact on Navios Acquisitions 8 5/8% Secured Bond Due 2017
As a result of this transaction, the Shinyo Navigator will be substituted by the Nave Celeste as collateral under the bonds due in 2017, with the net result that additional collateral, estimated at $13.0 million, will be added to the existing collateral package.

Angeliki Frangou, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Navios Acquisition, stated, "We were able to replace an aging vessel with a much younger vessel, having 7 more years of useful life with only nominal additional cost, considering the need for dry docking and the consequential off hire."

Cyvera Raises $11M to Eliminate Zero-Day Cyber Attacks

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and TEL AVIV, ISRAEL--(Marketwired - August 13, 2013) - Cyvera Ltd., the company that provides cyber defense solutions to stop zero-day attacks, has raised $11M in venture capital funding. The funding was led by Battery Ventures. Serial entrepreneurs Prof. Ehud Weinstein and Dr. Ofir Shalvi joined the round as well. The previous round was led by SF-based VC, Blumberg Capital.

"Cyber attacks that are not yet known pose the biggest threat to national, corporate and personal security. Cyvera's approach to preventing these attacks is truly innovative, born from the deep expertise of the founding team," said Itzik Parnafes, general partner at Battery Ventures. Cyvera's founders Uri Alter, Netanel Davidi and Moshe Ben Abu, and Chief Scientist Gal Badishi (Phd), have spent their careers in cyber security and computer forensics, including corporate security, master hacker research, and both proactive and defensive management roles within the Israeli Intelligence.

Cyvera is preventing yet-to-be-identified cyber threats uniquely by obstructing the path upon which the attack is being launched and not enabling the attackers to utilize their "toolboxes." The system takes aim at the two most common (and severe) vectors of malware injection by blocking any attempt to exploit software vulnerabilities or any attempt to utilize social engineering tactics that prompt the user to run executable malicious files.

Cyvera's flagship product, the Cyvera TRAPS (Targeted Remote Attack Prevention System), is a client-based platform. It consists of endpoint agents and a centralized Management and Report Center. The agents lay traps and sets barriers across every conceivable path that an attack could take and conduct random action to deceive the attacker. In addition to stopping an attack and preventing any malicious activity before it occurs, Cyvera has also developed Reflector. Reflector is an isolated environment for post-prevention study and deep analysis of the obstructed attack, based on the forensics evidence collected in the process of prevention. Cyvera's cyber defense solutions currently work on all types of Windows-based end point and server systems and on top of any platform (whether physical or virtual machine, terminal sessions or thin clients). Additional operating system support is in development and will be released later this year.

"We don't know what the attack will look like, and we don't even try to, because we understand it is impossible to predict. But we do know every single technique a perpetrator must use to successfully launch an attack. Often these techniques are concealed in innocent looking files like documents, presentations, web links, images and more," explains Netanel Davidi, Co-CEO of Cyvera. "With this knowledge we are able to stop the attack in its tracks at a very early stage and by doing so can help our customers evade the effects of zero-day attacks or known attacks on unpatched computers."

The Cyvera TRAPS has been deployed, and has successfully prevented targeted attacks, primarily in finance, energy, chemicals, legal, hi-tech and other sectors that operate critical infrastructure or keep sensitive data. One of Cyvera's customers that agreed to reveal a sophisticated attack prevention is Haifa-Group, a multinational corporation and leader in chemicals, agricultural fertilizer and growing technologies. At Haifa Group, Cyvera obstructed a highly sophisticated attack before any damage occurred. The early prevention enabled a deep investigation of the attack which led to the identification of the "contractor" who engaged the attack against Haifa Group and several other similar companies.

Cyvera's new funding will be used to expand business and sales operations in the US and to further develop its cyber defense solutions. In particular, Cyvera will focus on the finance sector, as well as healthcare, critical infrastructure and the federal market. Cyvera was recently named a partner in McAfee's Security Innovation Alliance (SIA), a technology partnering program created to accelerate the development of interoperable security products and to simplify the integration of these products within complex customer environments. In addition, the company recently opened its San Francisco office.

"As our first US customers begin to deploy solutions, we are excited to be on the ground to work closely with them to integrate Cyvera's new layer of protection seamlessly into their current strategies," said Uri Alter, Co-CEO of Cyvera. "Being part of McAfee's Security Innovation Alliance enables us to speed integration in complicated environments that are McAfee-based and we are very pleased to be part of it."

According to the Ponemon Institute, a cybersecurity think tank, cyber-attacks increased by 42% in 2012. The surveyed companies experienced about two successful attacks per week; and, on average, cybercrime cost them $8.9 million a year, with information theft representing the highest external cost.

About Cyvera
Cyvera is winning the fight against cybercrime by stopping unknown, zero-day attacks before they can unleash malicious, harmful activity. It has prevented every zero-day attack since first launching its cyber defense platform in March 2012 and has been recognized as a Gartner Cool Vendor. Cyvera's mission is to develop cyber defense solutions that eliminate fear, enabling organizations to operate freely and securely. For more information visit www.cyvera.com.

LNS Research Launches New Report on PLM for Enterprise Quality Management

$

TEWKSBURY, MA--(Marketwired - August 13, 2013) - Omnify Software, a leading provider of web-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software for discrete manufacturers, today announces the availability of a new study from LNS Research, An Enterprise Approach to Quality for SMB Discrete Manufacturers. Based on a survey of over 400 small to midsized (SMB) discrete manufacturers, this report aims to educate executives on leveraging PLM for the management of quality processes.

Many SMB discrete manufacturers with complex products and processes have made investments in Product Lifecycle Management. The report reveals that it is often strategically optimal to leverage PLM for the management of quality rather than investing in an entirely new quality solution. Market leaders are rolling out Enterprise Quality Management Software (EQMS) functionalities as an extension of a mature and uniform existing PLM platform. In this respect, organizations are able to build upon strengths that have brought success in the past.

"By using PLM as a platform for delivering EQMS, market leaders are developing a unified information management system for managing quality that connects a number of data sources and applications, bypassing the traditional roadblocks of disparate solutions," stated Matthew Littlefield, President and Principal Analyst for LNS Research. "In addition, since the PLM process begins with a product idea, implementing a quality solution at this time is imperative for business performance as it can capture quality issues and resolve them far before they reach the customer."

Omnify Software validates the research findings by delivering quality management as part of the Empower PLM platform. "One of the key reasons we selected Omnify Software was the fact that change control and quality management were rolled into one system," stated Tony Batt, Quality Manager for EST Analytical. "We have been able to standardize business processes and centralize the management of documents, revision control and CAPAs in order to deliver consistent product to our customers and meet ISO compliance."

"We have been delivering quality management as part of our Empower PLM solution for a number of years and customers like EST Analytical realize the advantages," stated Chuck Cimalore, CTO for Omnify Software. "As stated in the study, not only does leveraging PLM to manage quality processes provide engineers with direct access to customer feedback to help make better design choices, it also gives quality visibility into the design process in order to catch issues before products are built. We chose to underwrite this report with LNS as both parties believe that this report and approach can help manufacturers produce higher quality products, gain a significant competitive advantage, and meet their overall quality objectives."

Stevia First Corporation Announces USDA Prioritization for Stevia Herbicide Trials

$

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwired - August 13, 2013) - Stevia First Corp. (OTCQB: STVF) ("Stevia First" or the "Company"), an early-stage agribusiness based in California's Central Valley and focused on the industrial scale production of stevia, is building support and acceptance for stevia by broadening its involvement within the USDA's IR-4 Program and helping provide domestic stevia growers with tools for long-term, reliable stevia leaf production.

In May 2013, the herbicides Envoy (Clethodim), Dual Magnum (S-Metolachlor) and Prowl H20 (Pendimethalin), which are widely used in the United States, have received commercial and manufacturer support to be elevated to high priority status in the Western Region's IR-4 Program. This important prioritization change was enabled by Stevia First Corp. acting in concert with researchers from the USDA, UC Davis, and North Carolina State University.

Currently, farmers in the U.S. interested in stevia must pursue use-exemptions for products intended for other crops, which are often difficult to acquire due to a rigorous justification process. Stevia First together with its partners, are leading the growing U.S-based stevia industry by generating the necessary crop safety data to support the development of pesticide regulation and best management practices for both organic and conventional production. The advancement of Envoy (Clethodim), Dual Magnum (S-Metolachlor), and Prowl H20 (Pendimethalin) in the IR-4 program is an important step in providing stevia growers with safe, reliable, and effective tools that enable long-term domestic stevia leaf production.

Stevia First Corp. is currently pursuing California grown stevia leaf to be used in its efforts to modernize the stevia supply chain and as feedstock for its breakthrough fermentation methods. Fermentation-based stevia production methods may bypass or greatly diminish the need for stevia leaf production, which by some estimates accounts for 70% or more of the total costs of traditional stevia extract production.

"The USDA's prioritization of these tools is another meaningful step towards ensuring a robust supply of locally-grown stevia leaf," said Robert Brooke, CEO of Stevia First. "We are excited to catalyze these efforts, which align with our long-term interests and could improve the economics of stevia extract production."

About Stevia First Corp. (OTCQB: STVF)
Stevia First Corp. is seeking to establish a vertically-integrated enterprise in the U.S. that uses technological expertise in fermentation-based stevia production and improves upon traditional stevia farming and processing methods. Stevia First's U.S. operations are located in the heart of California's Central Valley, one of the world's most productive agricultural regions. For more information visit: www.steviafirst.com.

About the Stevia Industry
The market for all-natural, zero-calorie stevia sweeteners is expanding rapidly. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates stevia intake could eventually replace 20-30% of all dietary sweeteners. The total global sweetener market was estimated at $58.3 billion in 2010. For more information visit: www.steviafirst.com.

Source: Geometrics, Inc.

San Jose, CA, August 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Geometrics and Sierra Romeo are now offering a novel person-borne IED and weapon monitoring and interdiction system aimed primarily for public and facility security. The sensors comprise high performance magnetometers plus additional sensors to limit false positive events (detecting an alarm situation when none exists). Applicable to screening of public sites including transportation, national monuments, polling stations, sporting events, military installations and border crossings, the device enables local law enforcement groups to receive warning of the motion of weapons or explosive devices.

The Rogue Detection System (RDS) relies on field proven high sensitivity magnetic sensing equipment that has been deployed in military situations to interdict person-borne IED’s. The system is deployed in common public containers such as road blocks or flower pots to be unobtrusive and undetectable from those being scanned. IED’s most commonly contain ball bearings, nails, or other iron objects which cannot be shielded from the detection mechanism. Weapons in general contain ferrous material which cannot be shielded. Adjustable threshold settings allow such items as keys or cell phones to pass the detection area without alarm while weapons set alarm conditions. A wireless sensor option is available.

RDS is being sold in both the US and other countries including areas where IED’s have been an issue of public security. No Export License is required. Visit the http://rds.geometrics.com site for more information and a video describing the operation and setup of the RDS system. Contact magsales@geometrics.com for system options and a quotation.

Dr. Carrington has been President of the Danforth Center since 2011. Prior to joining the Center, Carrington served on the faculties at Texas A & M and Washington State universities. Most recently, he was the Director of the Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing (CGRB), the Stewart Professor for Gene Research, and Distinguished Professor of Botany and Plant Pathology at Oregon State University. Internationally recognized for his research on gene silencing, the functions of small RNA, and virus-host interactions, Carrington’s work in the small RNA field has focused on mechanisms through which plants and other organisms use non-coding RNA to control growth and development and to defend against viruses. In 2008, Carrington was elected as a Member of the National Academy of Science, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, the American Phytopathological Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His awards include the Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation, the Ruth Allen Award from the American Society for Phytopathology, and the Humboldt Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Carrington earned his bachelor’s degree in plant sciences at the University of California, Riverside. And later, he received his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Tom H. Adams, Vice President of Chemistry Technology, Monsanto,
Dr. Adams has been the Vice President of Chemistry Technology since 2009 where he has lead the expansion of Monsanto’s Acceleron® seed treatment platform, growth of herbicide solutions including Warrant early PRE in cotton and soy markets, technical innovations to continue to reduce COGs in Roundup® as well developing novel approaches to weed resistance management. Following postdoctoral research in fungal genetics at the University of Georgia, Adams joined the faculty in the Department of Biology at Texas A&M University where he established an independent research program investigating genetic controls of fungal development and mycotoxin production. Later, Adams became involved in the startup of Monsanto’s Cereon Genomics facility, joining Monsanto full-time in 1998 as Discovery Director at Cereon. After holding various positions with Monsanto, in Adams moved to lead Strategy, Operations, and Prospecting for Biotechnology before moving to lead the Chemistry Organization. Tom received his bachelor’s degree in botany and plant pathology in 1981 from Oregon State University and his Ph.D. in microbiology in 1986 from Michigan State University where he studied control of nitrogen fixation during the Bradyrhizobium/soybean symbiotic interaction.
